Ever since I was a kid, I found a magic escape within video games. From the worlds I would build and the characters and backstories for them: all of it would contribute to my imagination and creative pursuits. Here's a gallery of snapshots from some of the video games I've enjoyed playing over the years and the backstories for characters I've created:

Chitaron's Backstory:
Influenced by the plot of the game, Chitaron is a character I created to be based on the Chitari species who attacked New York in the Avengers movie.
After the Battle of New York, by some miracle, there was a gravely injured Chitari crawling with one less arm and badly damaged legs. When a couple of bounty hunters (looking for weapon scraps in the aftermath) noticed his incredible perseverance to stay alive, they revitalized and took him under their wing. With his technological intelligence and resources from the ship, the crew crafted a new left arm and armored leg braces.
Years later, their ship would crash in Wakanda, leaving all in their crew dead, except for him. He was furious, but too weak to act on it. When a scientist when to scout the nearby crash, they brought him into a lab to conduct experiments on him. After being injected with a cosmic fluid, he was struck by a primal super sense. Out of fear, he killed the scientists who held him hostage. Before leaving the lab, he stole an armored mask to hide his face. During his retreat, Chronopolis was formed. As he was running away from the lab, he located the Avengers Mansion. He spoke to the Avengers (using a vocal translator he created to communicate better with his bounty hunter crew), pleading to let him join S.H.I.E.L.D. in their fight. Hawkeye would mentor him in both Martial Arts and Archery.
After Kang was defeated, Chitaron parted ways with S.H.I.E.L.D. to focus on his efforts to find the ones who shot his ship down all those months ago. He didn't want S.H.I.E.L.D. to be caught in the crossfires of his own personal battles. Over the years, in the pursuit of tracking down his unknown adversaries, he'd become a lone wolf. He continues to rely on his abilities and intelligence to provide him the strength to confront this grim chapter of his life, as he seeks justice for the death of his friends.

Detective Midnight's Backstory:
Born in Attilan, Thomas Wilson was brought into the world with supernatural abilities. Looking to find a purpose for his talents, he would become one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top detectives.
In many of the cases he was tasked with, he'd use Time Manipulation at the scene of the crime to analyze the stage of events. Even with this power, however, he isn't able to use any cameras to take a picture of what he saw from his perspective, as only he is able to see it. While he could use Mind Control to get people to confess to the crime, such a power tempts him in a field that sees the practice as unethical. Instead, he has to figure out how to prove each case by the morals and rule of law.
As a means to prevent the abuse of his authority, the gun he carries is not loaded with bullets. Rather, he uses it as a symbol of intimidation. With a preference to knock out aggressive opponents instead of killing them, his iconic gun throw technique is executed through his use of time manipulation, which allows him to use it as a boomerang. The Daily Bugle gave him the nickname Detective Midnight, as a nod to his use of time manipulation.
